My name is Emma Crawford and I live in the USA. I want to tell you a bit about myself. I am 11 years old, I have been riding since before I could walk. My pony, Goldilicious (aka Gabby) and I have been together since I was 2 years old. Gabby is my best friend, she is a 20 year old ( but don’t tell her she is )Section A welsh pony. She is 12 hands tall and palomino. She has the biggest personality too, she loves to travel and perform. I am blessed to be able to do what I do with my ponies.

 

About two years ago my godmother sent a video of her daughter standing being led on her pony walking. I told my parents I could do that by myself. I had been standing on my pony since I was tiny, but just standing still. So I gave it a go, it wasn’t that hard, so I asked if I could do it trotting. It took a few tries, but I got it. The next week, I asked my parents if I could try it cantering. They tried to run next to my pony and help hold me up, but that didn’t work. My parents reached out to our friend in Australia . They asked her how to teach me to get up and down at the canter. Everyone thought it would take me a long time, but I showed them it took me a few days. Things kind of just went from there.

 

I began to jump while standing with the help of my mom. Then I learned to carry the American Flag while standing cantering. I have also learned to vault on and off my pony all while bareback. I have been invited to carry the American flag before some Grand Prix events all over the United States. I have been to Ohio, Nebraska, Massachusetts, Florida, and Colorado. I was also invited to California and Canada. I have more things to come in 2023 . I also show in the pony hunters and in the jumpers too. I hope to have a team of Roman riding ponies in the near future. There is not much other than riding horses that I like to do.

 

Riding has allowed me to travel with my family all over the USA and Canada to horse show. I have friends from all over. I am blessed to be able to do what I do with my ponies and have big goals to be a trainer, top Showjumper and Roman Rider.
